Custom Secure Enterprise Communication Channel

The Opportunity Our client had identified a need for a secure online communication channel between their employees and clients. They required an enterprise solution that would allow for different types of messages to be sent by different business units in the corporation. In order to ensure the application could grow dynamically as new business units migrated onto the system, the system needed to support the deployment of new types of messages and presentation templates with little to no development effort.
The Solution
- Solstice was chosen as the technical architects and development leads for the project
- Generated a Java EE framework completely extensible using XML technology, including documents, stylesheets and schemas
- The client's in-house application servers and open source tools were used to minimize overhead costs
- IBM Websphere MQ was used for message delivery, ensuring high scalability and fault-tolerance
- The system allowed for new message types to be deployed in just minutes with no site down time or server-side development necessary
- Solstice mentored and trained client staff on Java enterprise architectures and XML technologies
